A short biography |

Chris Guarino grew up in Rockford, IL, moved to Denver, Colorado after graduating from high school, studied computer animation, and started sculpting in 1998. Sometimes thought of as gory, sometimes thought of as beautiful, Chris’s work is, nevertheless, unique, and something you truly have to see in order to appreciate. In 2001 Chris’s bizarre style won him the opportunity to make one of the main props for an independent short film entitled “The Citadel.” Moving back to the Chicago area in 2002, he made a point of exhibiting his unique body of work at a variety of galleries in and around the city, and was published in the collective work entitled "Artrockford." In 2003 Chris became a resident Artist of the Aesthetic Eye Gallery in Chicago where he still exhibits new work every year. In 2005 he moved back to Denver where he became a member of Fakture Gallery, and started working with metal at 23rd Avenue Gallery. Late in 2005 Chris started working with fellow sculptor Dave Parvin, and is now taking steps to make his work even more vivid and realistic. Through Dave, Chris met Todd Debrecini and with his guidance has made the leap from traditional sculpture to Special Effects Makeup and Prosthetic Creation. |
